Lil' Chris Album Review
He may be pint-sized, but this album
proves that Lil’ Chris is destined to become massive.
Filling the Busted-shaped void on the music scene with this
set of irresistibly infectious slices of guitar-driven pop
rock, the album lives up to the high standards set by first
single, Checkin’ It Out, a crazy catchy tour-de-force
of strange Crazy Frog-like noises. Indeed, if you can get over
Lil’ Chris’ somewhat sheep-like singing style and lyrics that
are pre-occupied with sex, you’ll find much to enjoy.
Clocking in at that perfect 3-minute duration, each song is
fast, furious and fun. New single Getting’ Enough is
the obvious highlight, building from the old-school
stripped-down funk of the intro into a song that begs to be
rocked out to, with Get Delirious coming a close
second.
Perhaps becoming slightly repetitive by track 12 (Rachel,
which you simply must listen to just to hear the astounding
number of things Chris manages to rhyme with ‘Rachel’), it’s a
frenetic energetic album bound to have you reaching for that
air guitar. Rock on!!!
