Jenny Lewis with The Watson Twins
'Rabbit Proof Fence' Album Review

This album is proof positive that
teentoday.co.uk does not just like pop.
Rabbit Fur Coat is bloody brilliant. Forget those KFC ads, if
you’re looking for spoonfuls of soul, look no further then
Jenny Lewis. This album has more soul than some actual people
do.
It’s a big melting pot of Deep South twangs, honeyed lyrics
and wholesome gospel goodness that slips down like warm apple
pie. Every song seems to have a golden tinge, nostalgic
without being backwards, classic without being old-fashioned.
If you thought a love of country music stopped and ended with
Dolly Parton, think again.
Most importantly, every ingredient fits, creating an album
that actually feels like an album. Not for Rabbit Fur Coat the
mixed-up shuffle of the iPod age – this deserves to be
listened to in its entirety. It’s wonderfully evocative and
Lewis’ pure voice is just perfect. Short of buying you a plane
ticket to Kansas or somewhere, Jenny Lewis does the next best
thing, using music to transport you to a different time and
place, a place of beauty warmth and heart.
This is an album that you’ll still be listening to in ten
years time and it will sound just as good. In fact, it might
even sound better. What more could you want?
