Infernal 'From Paris To Berlin' Album
Review

Why do dance acts even bother
releasing albums?! All their songs sound the same, innit? Yet
with their album, Infernal prove that there is more to them
than From Paris To Berlin – not much more but just
about enough.
In fact, the Danish duo have produced a collection of songs
that is a damn sight more consistent than most groups. This
album sees them tinker a little, but not too much (i.e. thank
God, no disastrous ‘dance ballads’), with the winning formula
that was From Paris To Berlin to good effect. A To
The B is probably the most similar, and bloody catchy it
is too, bettering it by having that most wondrous of things, a
talky middle eight. Meanwhile new single I Won’t Be Crying
combines the attitude that positively drips from singer Lina’s
voice with a quite brilliant bangy piano interlude. Their stab
at slowing things down, 10 Miles, is actually rather
nice.
By the thirteenth song, it does become all a bit samey and
Lina’s growl has started to grate. That said, it’s far
superior at delivering infectious Europop that this year’s
Eurovision (what happened? It was all rock dirges!) and great
for working out too. By going for the smash and grab approach,
keeping each song short sweet and simple, Infernal have made a
tidy and surprisingly decent little album.
ON REPEAT: A To The B, I Won’t Be Crying, Hey
