This was originally going to be a shit or hit for the Sugababes’ new video, Wear My Kiss. But I found that song and video frankly so uninspiring (brief breakdown: song’s average, the intro may be the best thing about it, Jade’s hair looks like she should be in a Manga comic, comes to something when the main thing that blogs are squealing about is a giant pair of shoes) that I was driven back into the arms of this hilarious, witty and downright catchy parody of Ke$ha’s Tik Tok, courtesy of Britain’s own Midnight Beast feat. St£fan (ha ha).
Most of you may have already seen it but all those that haven’t, you’re in for a treat. It tells of the tale of someone who’s ‘mad, really bad, but don’t tell my Mum and Dad’, our laugh-out-loud moment comes at 1:17 and there’s a few funny Lady Gaga references too. For those not bothered by these witticisms, there’s also a fit male dancer (there’s Olly sold then).
You know things have come full circle when there’s even a cover of the parody on Youtube. It also offers further proof of what a gem Tik Tok is – surviving the spoof treatment and remaining just (if not more) catchy. I’ve watched it four times already. Who needs the Sugababes, eh?!
Do Midnight Beast do Tik Tok justice?
