Mel B didn't know about Eddie Murphy split

Former Spice Girl Mel B is furious with Eddie Murphy after he demanded a DNA test to prove he is the father of her unborn child - according to British reports.

The Beverley Hills Cop actor made the astonishing claims in an Dutch TV interview last Tuesday, just a day after the Wannabe singer claimed the couple were looking forward to spending Christmas together.

When asked if he was happy with Mel, who revealed she was pregnant last month, Murphy snapped back, "You're being presumptuous, because we're not together anymore. And I don't know whose child that is, until it comes out and has a blood test. You shouldn't jump to conclusions, sir."

But according to British newspaper The Sun, Mel is shocked by Murphy's comments because she still believed they were an item. Mel was heard telling a close friend, "There's no question that Eddie is the father of my baby. I haven't been with anyone else since I met Eddie. I'm shell-shocked by the whole thing. As far as I was concerned we hadn't really broken up- we'd just had a bit of a row."

Murphy was recently seen in public with new girlfriend Tracey Edmonds at the New York premiere of his latest film Dreamgirls. Mel and Murphy started dating in June, just two months after Murphy divorced his wife of seven years Nicole.
