It's friggin' well sad. People only read Harry Potter, they have a good storyline but are poorly written. If that was in reference to me, I think you might want to take it back. I could open up a bookshop with the number of books I own. Also there s nowt wrong with only reading HP, I imagine the people who do that would robably otherwise not read anything, so reading something is an improvement.
I don't see why people think that reading is good for you, or is an improvement in their lives.

Cos it improves vocabularly and literacy rates for a start.
Also seeing as you are doing a history degree or at least were, I'm a little surprised at this attitude to reading :S

Hi, I've just been reading which authors teentoday members have been reading. I work for a children's publishers called Egmont (we don't publish Harry P),and I'm just trying to find out what sort of books are popular with teenagers. Someone we do publish is Catherine Forde, have you heard of her? She writes teen books and has just written her sixth book. It's called Sugarcoated and is about a teenage girl who gets caught up with a drugs gang, after witnessing one of their crimes. Does that sound like the sort of thing anyone would read?
