Sheephead Sheephead newbie Registered: 03/31/08 Posts: 26 Loc: Durham City	Hi if your stuck for a career choice and want something differnt then join the armed forces. I joined at 16 after 6 months of leaving school and its been great ever since. I didnt see the point of getting a levels in anything cos i see them as been pointless unless your going to university which doesnt get many people anywhere in life like my cousin who now works in a supermarket with all these qualifications. Im a weapons engineer on HMS Nottingham and i have been to 20 differnt countries, 4 continents and get paid 2 grand a month what more can you ask for. Well its worth thinking about. Its not all about Iraq and Afganistan. I just came back from Rio de Janeiro so cant be that bad

At the end of my degree i get a job that involves travelling round the world, visiting almost every nation that has motorsport anda starting wage of around £36,000 with bonuses that could in exceptional circumstances amount to an extra £19,000 per year. Plus promotions to roles which have salaries of well over £1 million/year. So, providing i get a good degree and am the best in my field of work i would only get (using a value from the current best in my field) £4,976,000 per year more than you, purely because i stayed in education.... i think you got the bad end of the deal there $\:\)$ Have fun with your danger pay etc. _________________________ http://www.myspace.com/sinful_dokta

-R0Lo- -R0Lo- stranger Registered: 06/13/07 Posts: 7 Loc: Coventry Uk	Well alot of the oldies will know me, but anyhow im rolo ex mod of tt chat and i joined the army when i was 17, I am sad to say DoktaUH but in around 1 year i will be flying a 39 million pound helicopter (apache ah mk1) I did go to college though but only to re-sit my GCSE's in maths and english im sorry to say but being a pilot sound more fun than fixing a car ;)(dont take to heart) lol Join up guys look at Army air corps if intrested in my job. _________________________

Never heard of you and as far as i'm aware only olly has been at TT longer than me $;\)$ Its easy to quote figures if they don't actually belong to you isn't it $;\)$ True you might be an Apache pilot soon, but your wage will still only be in the low to mid double figure thousands. Anywhichway, i'm opposed to our armed forces being used to steal oil from nations that are deemed to be "dangerous" yet no proof has been found that they had any WMDs as had been claimed previously. _________________________ http://www.myspace.com/sinful_dokta

What figures have nothing to do with me? The money is not everything in the job alot of people don't join for the money. P.s Im not qualified to do jack shit and im earning 24k atm. Now the abuse seems to have gone from the army onto me are you against the war or against people in the army? either way i have no respect for you. If you can read english thank your teacher If you can speak english thank a soldier. _________________________
