No but I'm not on about just funny. There are plenty of just funny comedians who are as funny as Hicks, Carlin and Bruce. There are, but I can't see any who can do it and deliver a message. There are plenty who can deliver a message but sacrifice humour. There are those that are funny but sacrifice a message. To be able to do both is an incredibly difficult task. Kitson I can't comment yet, but I plan to youtube him very soon.
As for Brand I find his material awful and him as a person despicable. You don't have to be likable to be funny, hell Stewart Lee comes across as a right twat when he does stand up, but he's still funny, but Brand just annoys me and his material makes me want to stab him.
To go back a step or too, the two lads from the mighty boosh too, awful awful comedians. Where is the build up? They're perculiar I will give them that, but funny? No I think not. I was once accused of not getting the mighty boosh because I'm not intelligent enough, and because I didn't get the jazz references. I'm sorry but don't patronise me I know who Allan Fucking Holdsworth is alright considering I would suck a million cocks to see him live in concert I don't need to be told I don't get or don't like jazz fusion. The simple fact is just because they mention a particular thing that I am into doesn't make it worthwhile viewing. If Mr H was in it every week playing guitar that would make it worthwhile viewing, but I would not be watching it for comedy value as it is not funny.

The shame about Kitson is that he shys from television, I mean he did Phoenix Nights, but aside from that, you have to see him live, I was lucky to see some bootleg footage, the delivery is up there with Bernard Manning, only the material is good too.
