Ok at the moment I am ridciculously stressed more so than I think I have ever been in my life. Mainly because I have far too much work to do, I've been in the library for at least 6 hours everyday for the last week. People are adding to my stress to, my best friend is being off with me, and only talking to me when she needs advice about her ex boyfriend. I have guys reappearing from the past and causing me grief. I'm missing home quite a bit at the moment. And basically everything is getting on top of me.
I'm getting 5 hours sleep a night max, which isn't helping. I'm getting spots for the first time in years (I've always had remarkably good skin), I have rashes on my legs which are really itchy, and I'm getting a cold. I've had headaches pretty much everyday.
None of this is helped by the fact I have no one to talk to this about, my flatmate has been lovely, but I don't want to dump on her anymore than I have to. And my other friends don't seem to be able to see I'm stressed and pretty urgh in general and just go on about their own trivial problems such as missing dinner, and me being the nice selfless person I am listen. When really inside I'm screaming, "I WANT TO BE SELFISH HELP MEEEEE".
So basically I'm asking anyways to help with stress at all. I don't really have time for anything major, cos my work situation is that bad, but any little things would be great.
If you read all of that thank youuuu

awwwww no thats not nice at all
I recommend pampering yourself any available opportunity. Eg, face masks, chocolate, candles, painting your nails
Always make time to do what you enjoy

You could have talked to me about it. And I'm doing the chocolate thing, a lot, too much in fact.
that could explain the spots

Right missus. First thing is first. In this situation, you need to think about your body like a machine. You have lots of work to do, so you need to work to maximum effectiveness.
Firstly, you need to fuel yourself propperly. You need to eat regularly, and you need to be eating lots of complex carbs. Flapjacks are a good source of complex carbs, and things like bananas are great for slow release energy. Chocolate is a good and tempting short term fix, but you will get a sudden suagr rush floowed by a massive crash which will make you feel more tired.
Secondly, sleep is massively important. You can't write well unless you rest your mind. If you work a machone too hard for too long it will break down. You need six hours quality sleep a night really to be well rested. Make sure you set a time to be in bed by and stick to it.
Planning is key. Write down everything you have to get done, and then make a study plan. Set yourself small realistic goals, and set aside specific time for each subject or essay or whatever. You should never be studying for more than two hours at a time solidly. You can't concentrate propperly after that.
Funnily enough we were studying this today. Research has found that setting small achievable goals and writing them down helps make study time more effective. This is also improved if you reward yourself for achieving the goals and take regular breaks.
Try not to deprive yourself too much. Like, say if theres something you really like watching on TV, say, Hollyoaks or something, I dunno, then plan your study so that your break time is at the start of Hollyoaks, the watching it can be your reward.
If you are having trouble sleeping, I would suggest incense or scented candles burning before you go to sleep, and perhaps some soothing music. You can download it or I could send you some. Lavendar is good for promoting restful sleep. You can get spray stuff to put on your bedding to relax you.
Also, pop down to Boots, and get yourself some rescue remedy. I like the Aspen one personally. It's great for exam stress. It's completely herbal. Just put a few drops on your tongue, and put some in water and sip it throughout the day. Herbal relaxer. Pretty cheap and damn good! Also try herbal pills maybe? I used some that were called something like Naturals. They werent expensive and really helped.
For your skin, try Whichdoctor treatment gel. It's great for itchy skin flare ups, and you can get it in a face wash which will help with the spots.
A hot bath can be really relaxing too. And hugs believe it or not release your 'happy hormones'. Exercise is very calming too believe it or not. Try to do some even though you feel tired. It can energise you and help you sleep better.
Hope all this helps!!!
