We were going to put it on the mantelpiece next to our signed Christmas card from assorted pop luminaries, but then we remembered we gave that away. Never mind eh? We’ve long given up hope of the UK ever producing a properly decent “youth” show (Grange Hill?! Byker Grove?! Skins and its cast that changes as frequently as Olly twitters?! Puh-lease…). So as usual, it’s up to the US to keep delivering great, non-reality, non-soap tv – and the latest has arrived with Fox’s Glee.

If the botox parade and catty looks of The Real Housewives of New Jersey on Channel 4 weren’t enough for you then RuPaul’s Drag Race on E4 is shimmying towards you with a killer cocktail of “glitter, hairspray and cattiness” (Olly really wanted me to say that, so there you go!)
Okay, so maybe we’re a bit sick, but at teentoday.co.uk towers we like nothing better than to laugh at the misfortune of others. Especially smug celebrity types*. So this video of Hollyoaks’ OB (yes, the one that hasn’t been in Hollyoaks for 18 months but everyone still loves) eating major tarmac made us holler with joy (and continues to do so with repeat viewings). The arm flailing is a personal highlight - the screengrab above just doesn’t do it justice. But dear reader, we laugh (and laugh and laugh) because we know he was (sort of) fine afterwards. The footage you are about to view is a seminal moment in web television and the culmination of a decade worth of work. Never before has one man and a small camera captured so succinctly such amazing high production values, masterful interviewing, fantastic cinematography and sound engineering without the need for an expansive team of writers, directors, technical bods, runners, hangers-on and actual experience. In fact this video proves once and for all that one man can redefine the art of the on-screen interview and will tear up and stomp on the notion of success being the product of big budgets and even bigger egos. It will make you shout from the rooftops I CAN ACHIEVE, I CAN COMPETE, I CAN BE THE BIGGEST TEEN SITE IN THE WORLD BY JULY 2010… Or something.
The whole Jonas Brothers real band vs TV band vs TV show always leaves us a bit confused, but after spending all morning thinking naughty things about the US trio, we managed to get back to work, and decided to share these brilliant photos from the band’s new TV show Jonas with you. Thank yous on a postcard dear reader.
