If your Friday night schedule just got a lot more manageable thanks to the demise of Big Brother, why not make the most of it and take a trip to the cinema tomorrow instead. Fish Tank may look like an episode of Eastenders on steroids, but the gritty British film starring newcomer Katie Jarvis (who, for fans of trivia, was discovered at a train station arguing with her boyfriend and has never acted before) is winning rave reviews from all the important reviewer types, and its unflinching trailer’s got us excited for 90 minutes of honest and hopefully challenging cinema…

Dance Flick: lovers of quality cinema look away now

How many times can you trade on the back of one relatively funny film? It seems “the people that brought you Scary Movie” agree that the answer is.. lots. We expected the trailer for Dance Flick to continue the Wayans brother’s fine tradition of producing so-bad-it’s-offensive cinema, and, we were not disappointed. These guys surely deserve an award for milking the crappy film cash cow (that’s you, the unsuspecting public).. Oscar winning material this is not. Though you probably wouldn’t want to be our cinema buddy as we have a tendency to let out rather manly screams at the smallest jump, bump or slash (including that bit in Sixth Sense where Mischa Barton vomits under the blanket.
