teentoday.co.uk chats to Jackie Tyson, X Factor make-up artist extraordinaire!

You teentoday.co.uk lot know all about my slight obsession with the X Factor at the moment, Saturday night socialising is now a distant memory for me… So when some lovely PR people asked me if I wanted a quick chat with Jackie Tyson, the genius make-up artist behind all the contestants’ looks, I was about as excited as Jedward on Red Bull. Hit “see more” for my chat with the very lovely Jackie (she was in the middle of painting the faces of Bon Jovi when we spoke, very showbiz)…

Steal Cheryl’s sparkly headband look!

Steal Cheryl’s sparkly headband look!

Editor’s note: I’m shit, this article has been knocking about in the teentoday.co.uk inbox for too long. The headband was proudly nestled in Cheryl’s glorious mane a few weeks back. Must do better. Sorry.

After the dress monstrosities from Mrs Cole recently there is a little glimmer of style amidst the madness and it comes in the form of a sparkly head band as seen on last Saturday’s show. Cheryl teamed her Atelier Versace Grecian dress with a £350 Jenny Packham headband that looked gorgeous nestled amongst her L’Oreal curls. Dannii’s even getting in on the action with a little glittery number spotted nestling in her crimped locks. Trust us, this is gonna be a big look in the run up to Christmas, just team with loose curls or a simple up do and a Little Black Dress for Channi chic.

Gothic style - an introduction from Lucie Dolly Rocker

She’s one-third of Britain’s most obnoxious girl group, longstanding friend of teentoday.co.uk and now the newest addition to our supremely passionate ranty and some-would-say talented writing team… it’s Lucie Kay. Though not a fan of full stops and apostrophes (and her shift button was obviously busted as there wasn’t ONE SINGLE capitalised word throughout this piece up to 20mins ago) Lucie’s love of great music and quirky sense of style (plus the fact she’s always up for sharing a bottle of cheap white wine) makes her a firm favourite with the rest of the teentoday.co.uk team. Oh, and whilst other teen sites, who shall remain nameless, appear to struggle to pull together a single article with substance, we’ve roped in top 46 chart acts to write for us. How amazing is that? Hit “see more” for Lucie’s introduction to Gothic style, and a whole load of too-much-information about teentoday.co.uk’s nights on the town.

Style Boutique for Nintendo DS shit or hit?

With the desire to live your life through a screen becoming more popular, games which present a skewed view of reality have really taken off. First there was Rollercoaster World, Sim City and Lemonade Stand on PCs, but now you can create your own world in the palm of your hand. One of the latest examples of these faux-reality games is Style Boutique for the Nintendo DS. Hit “see more” to see if it’s hit or shit, and have your say too.

Chezza Vs Dannii - X Factor style wars week 2

Whilst it may seem we’re all about Cheryl Cole on teentoday.co.uk at the moment, judging by the sheer volume of comments it seems you guys can’t stop chattering away about the Geordie madam either. It’s time for Style Wars Week 2 so let’s not designer skirt around the issue, we’ll dive straight in to the ensemble everyone’s talking about (no not Whitney’s wardrobe malfunction) Cheryl and THAT performance outfit. Hit see “more"…

Mathmos Lava Lamps - kitsch at its finest… what do you think?

Mathmos, the original purveyors of the brilliantly kitsch Lava Lamp, and now parents to a range of beautiful and inventive lighting from the hand-controlled Airswitch lights to funky space projectors, have given their signature product the most 00s of make overs - the addition of green credentials. Infact new FireFly R1 is the first lava lamp to be powered by a tea light (yes, those things you find at Ikea and romantic types scatter around the bath tub). Hit “see more” to see why we love it.
