(Things that we all know and resent, and frankly wish had never been written, let alone put on every website, but that we are also know are true and are there to keep us relentlessly healthy!)

Watch what you eat
Obvious huh?! I know… but food regulations mean that products now have to clearly display all the info about the food you’re eating. If the saturated fat count is in the red (and yes, they are now colour-coded, so I literally do mean in the red) and the calorie count is soaring above the 500 level then you may want to watch how many of those sometimes oh so delicious foods you are putting away.* And we pretty much all know now what are the irresistible foods that will make this list! Products that sadly do have ridiculously high fat and sugar levels if eaten without restraint, so please just turn away now if you’d rather not know: cakes, our beloved cakes are always in the no.1 slot, I’m afraid; biscuits too an unexpected demon; red meats clog up our delicate interiors if eaten on mass and fried food is just always a bitch! I know its hard guys, and let me just stress that teentoday does not endorse its members not eating these foods, but just beware, if you’re having this on the menu everyday then you’re soon gunna end up on your doctor’s obesity list! Remember, it’s not about cutting out, it’s about cutting down!
(The UK Department of Health Estimated Average Requirements (EAR) are a daily calorie intake of 1940 calories per day for women and 2550 for men- though how many calories are needed each day for each person can vary greatly depending on lifestyle and other factors, such as: your age, height and weight, gender, body-fat percentage, environment, your basic level of daily activity, and your body composition. Please see your doctor before taking any serious steps to lose large quantities of weight.)

The “Special K diet” is great
as breakfast IS the most important meal of the day, it’s healthy and tastes nice. Instead of snacking on crisps and sweets, try fruit, nuts or cereal bars to keep you going. Drink plenty of water, or even squash as a subsitute. Walk instead of getting a lift or the bus. You could even run around the block first thing to burn some calories. So don’t starve yourself or count calories, just enjoy life =]
