Organic Pharmacy Carrot Butter Cleanser - Make-up Miracle 5

My not too distant teenage years were plagued with acne.. I’m not talking the odd pimple and blackhead here, but big pustule-ly seeping spots that covered my back and face. So bad I often couldn’t sleep. Luckily those days are behind me, but trust me when I say I am very particular about what products I use on my face. Meet make-up miracle number 5: Organic Pharmacy’s Carrot Butter Cleanser, £30.
Thirty quid for a face cleanser? Have I gone insane? Perhaps.. but bear with me.
As the name suggest the cleanser contains a plethora of natural ingredients including carrot, sunflower oil and soothing rosemary and lavender - and smells delicious. As well as that it’s both mild and powerful and leaves me with superstar skin. So it should - Madonna, Gwyneth, Kylie, Beyonce and Robbie are said to be fans of the range. The packaging is a thing of clean, functional beauty and will sit proudly upon you bathroom shelf.
To apply, you take a small 5 pence-size amount, rub it between your hands and gently massage into dry skin. It’s quite thick and has a slightly oily texture.. so it can’t be removed with water alone. To take it off you need a muslin cloth which you can get from ebay for pennies. Simple eh?
Who knows if it’s the massage, the muslin, the product or all three that work - but it actually does. My skin is left soft, supple and glowing - removing dirt and grime with ease. I’m also reliably informed it’s powerful enough to remove eye make up with great ease. And, unlike other harsh teenage skin cleansers - you know, the ones that clean like paint stripper, it doesn’t leave your face dry and itchy.
Now, the one question remaining: thirty quid for a cleanser, have I gone totally nuts? You’d be right in thinking it’s normally not worth paying a hefty price for premium beauty products when there are often better products out there for a lot less. And, at teentoday.co.uk we normally recommend great, humble products like Vaseline and Aldi moisturiser - but I can honestly say that this an exception. Not only will one jar last you several months (’cos you only need a small amount and it only needs to be used once a day) - but the results are there to see in the mirror. Beg, steal or borrow - just give it a go.
Remember to check back every week or so (depending on how hung-over we are) to see our latest make-up miracle recommendations. You can also email us your own recommendations at .

Would you pay £30 for a cleanser?

I’d advise evryone to stop praising this product because everytime one does, the price increases. A few months ago it cost £24. Since your article quoting £30, it has gone up again to £32.00. No justification for price hike other than manufacturer now thinks it can get away with it. I will no longer buy it.
