No dick eating - but here’s what we think of your other suggestions

Welcome to the first in a weekly update from me, teentoday.co.uk editor Olly. This week I want to take the time to feedback on suggestions you guys have left on the site. Earlier in the year we added a nifty little feedback widget to the left-hand of the site (<-). The idea was, wherever you are on teentoday.co.uk, if a lightbulb went off, you’d have a way to feedback your fantastic idea to us. Instead, we were told to “eat a bowl of dicks”. See more for the rest of your ideas and what we intend to do.

- By far and away the most popular idea was to eat a bowl of dicks (yes, 23 of you wanted this to happen). I was particularly pleased to see the widget used in the spirit it was intended. Or something. Unfortunately I’m watching my weight, so this is one piece of feedback - using our nifty bit of functionality - we’ve decided to decline.

- The next most popular was to remove “eat a bowl of dicks” from the feedback page… we haven’t deleted it, but we have declined it - we’ve now marked this suggestion as complete.

- Create a new header - during our *ahem* much loved Scandipop month we got a bit carried away and created what can only be described as the most garish and obnoxious header the site has ever seen. We proudly displayed it at the top of the page. Unsurprisingly, you hated it. We’ve now removed it and instead have a series of 15 slightly less offensive headers which we will rotate as the mood takes us. Thanks to Allen Bramley for the fantastic design skills. Also, look out for an opportunity to have your own photography, design work or illustration featured at the top of the site coming soon. Suggestion marked completed.

- Add fashion ideas and hot looks onto the style pages so people can get great ideas! We loved this idea. Although we’ve brought you a wardrobe full of style delights, such as the Saturday’s dress range, a sneak-peek at Kate Moss’ Topshop design work, cool or fool and our favourite make-up miracles there’s a LOT more we can and will do. Look out for street style, clothes customisation, get-the look and loads, loads more in the coming months. And, if you think you’ve got something to add here, please email us. We’ve marked this as under review as we haven’t actually made the change yet.

- Bring back the chat room, make it better and popular. Oh, who remembers the glory days of the teentoday.co.uk chat rooms? 100s of chatters sharing their lives, loves and passions in perfect harmony. Or, something like that. Anyway, the chat room was closed as a result of dwindling numbers, a series of hacking incidents and security issues, and us not having enough time to give it the energy we honestly felt it deserved.

We’re passionate about relaunching it, and will do so as soon as we feel we can make it a safe, fun environment. For now, there’s the teentoday.co.uk message boards You can still get advice, find friends, post rants and raves and talk about your issues with other teens on the teentoday.co.uk message boards. We’re also marking this suggestion as planned.

Add games - Although we’d love to add games to the site, with just a small team of happy campers trying to bring you the best in new music, film, street style, competitions and quizzes we don’t have time to look for the best in games. That’s not to say we won’t add them later… as the team grows and we complete our quest for world domination we will inevitably have more time to add things. For now, this suggestion is on hold

Make more hot prizes to be won - Hmph. Well some people are never happy are they? In the last few months we’ve given away games consoles, MP3 players, loads of computer games, DVDs, CDs… and a year’s supply of Poppets! But, you still want more. Well keep checking back the teentoday.co.uk comps pages for our latest give-aways and comps.

So there you have it, our slightly formal checklist of your feedback listened to, fixed, planned or happily ignored.
