Agony debate: Is it wrong to look through someone’s text messages?

Since the arrival of the mobile phone, the way in which we communicate has changed drastically. Many people see their mobile as sacred and going through their messages would be seen as a massive invasion of privacy - but what do you think?
Have your ever read your partner's messages and if so, what did you find?

I think it is wrong to look through people’s messages. Especially without their permission, in the situation of a relationship, a relationship is based on trust, and therefore you must trust that they’re being faithful and happy with you, if you doubt that trust or have heard rumours, then you should make your own choice but if you’re not trusting the person you’re with a relationship is pointless, but still invading their privacy isn’t right.

I dont read anyones messages i think its not right, you dont want people looking through you messages so dont long through other peoples. It’s invading their privacy. Ask if your allowed to look through their phone and messages.

when my parents were breaking up i read through my moms messages on her phone and found out that she’d been seeing somebody else - my advice then is dont do it because it should only ever be thought of when theres no trust, but it should never be done because you might not like what you find in worst case scenario. If your in a relationship and you dont trust them - talk to them about anything thats bothering you, or perhaps its time you moved on. Dont invade privacy.

You souldn’t look at other peoples messages on their phone but people do do it.

Hell yeah! Other people’s messages are their business. Imagine a world where nobody had any privacy! It would suck.

well i think that if its your friends and your bored and its just there then why shouldnt you, we all trust each other, and they’re always lookin at mine
